Essentialism cover

The past two years have no doubt provided plenty of opportunity for each of us to reflect on and assess what is most important in our lives. Both personally and professionally, we now put heightened significance on how and with whom we invest our time as we strive to prioritize the people and experiences that matter most.

Unfortunately, in a hyper-competitive world, prioritizing is overtaken by our drive to do everything and we forget that time is not a renewable resource. What if the question we should be asking was "How can I do LESS, but BETTER?" Essentialism, The Disciplined Pursuit of Less holds some of the keys to answering this question. Written by NY Times bestselling author, Greg McKeown, Essentialism is not a book on time management, but rather an introduction to a compelling life philosophy held by many of history's most significant contributors.

I re-read Essentialism every year. I am intrigued by the idea that every moment is an opportunity to make our highest contribution. While I regularly get undermined by spreading myself too thin, with Essentialism as a guidepost, I am learning the discipline of regularly asking, "Am I investing in the right activities right now?" Essentialism has taught me the power of small wins and that the key to change is consistency of focus. As with the most important things in life, the ideal will never be achievable so the value must be in the journey. I hope you all see as much benefit from this journey as I have.
